A WORD FROM THE VICAR

It is an enormous privilege to be part of this wonderful community of Weyhill.   Two of the most important values often found in village life is to seek opportunities to join together in community and to work for the common good.  Throughout its rich and incredible history, Weyhill Church has always sought to uphold these values as well as providing a place where people can find a sense of peace and stillness in a sometimes frenetic world.

Being a member of the Weyhill 100 Club is to be part of living out that shared vision, and I would like to invite you to join us and perhaps, by giving generously, you may be blessed with an abundant reward!

Of course, The 100 Club is just one way to respond. You are most welcome to come to our church at any time.  There are services each Sunday at 10.30am, and on the second Sunday of every month the 100 Club draw takes place at the close of the service.

I hope to meet with you soon.

Blessings

Alex

WEYHILL PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL

100 CLUB DRAW

A CHANCE FOR YOU TO WIN A LARGE CASH PRIZE – AND TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE SUPPORT OF YOUR CHURCH,

SAINT MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS’.

As you may have seen through articles in the Village News, personal letters from the vicar, or in the local press, our Church is under threat of closure unless we can raise more income to meet our bills. The PCC therefore launched the “100 CLUB” in April 2014, with the aim of raising money to help with Church finances. The income will be split 55% to the Church and 45% to prizes.

This is a fun way for you to help keep your Church in Weyhill on a healthy financial footing and thereby prevent it from closing down. The Church has been open for 1000 years and it would be shameful if ours was the generation to oversee its demise!

It works like this:

You join the 100 Club by completing the attached Application Form. The money you donate pays for one or more numbers. You may have as many numbers as you like – each one costs £10 per month (which is about what regular churchgoers usually put in the collection plate per week).

All numbers sold go into the draw, which is made after the second service each month in the Church coffee room. Results will be published in the Village News.

There are 4 cash prizes each month – thanks to the excellent response so far of 112 members! We have managed to sell so many shares because the prizes are so good and the odds of winning are so high. You can still join, and if we get to 120 members a 5th prize will be introduced. Anyone can buy shares, it is not necessary to be a Weyhill resident. The prizes are:

FIRST PRIZE £250-

SECOND PRIZE £125-

THIRD PRIZE £75-

If you would like to join, please complete the attached form and return it to me at the address shown. Any questions – give me a call on 01264 772130.

You may either complete the standing order form (£10 per month for one number, £20 per month for two numbers etc or for an annual amount) or enclose a cheque for your annual payment of £120 for each number required. Prizes to winners will be paid as cheques and delivered by post.

Thank you for your support and GOOD LUCK.

PS. Remember: This may be dearer to buy a share than some of the other similar schemes in existence, but the Church needs a lot of money to survive and the odds are much better than The National Lottery and 55% of the proceeds go to the Church.
